@LiaMaKaChauHai This is true, 3G does kill battery life. Unfortunately Apply disabled the ability to turn 3G ON and OFF in iOS5. There are rumors the next iOS5 update will bring this option back.

@xPS2Gamerx The “Camera” option under “Location Services” is “ON” by default. This puts a GPS location attached to each picture you take so when you click on the “Photos” icon and click “Places” at the bottom it will show where you took each picture. I left mine “ON” as I have found it to not hurt the battery that badly.

hey what about if you switch off the 3G gprs services you may save up for 70% of battery life at same time for battery life more longers

@Yoniantebi The case is made by Incipio. It’s the Silicrylic model. I picked it up at the Verizon store when I got my iPhone 4S.

Hey! I also saw another video and have seen a battery imporvement so far. Change the settings for the calendar icloud app. It checks for new appointments and stuff almost all the time. That could be the problem! Nice video btw

@MEBarnett86 Thanks for the post. Makes sense! Still would not hurt to turn off “Diagnostics & Usage” in both locations. Apparently a lot of the Apple/Mac blogs are claiming a bug with the “Setting Time Zone” setting in “System Services” under “Location Services” is causing the battery to drain quicker. Turning that off like I showed how in the video should help from the battery draining so quickly.

  21. by MEBarnett86,

Sorry, but you’re confused on a portion of the settings. “Diagnostics & Usage setting under Location Services > System Services is just the toggle that allows Diagnostics and Usage to USE location services. It’s possible to have diagnostics enabled but then disable it’s ability to use location services. Disabling this setting won’t affect anything if your diagnostics and usage is disabled. Look under Settings > General > About > (Go to the bottom) Diagnostics and Usage and you’ll see it disabled
